Commonwealth Games 5000m champion, Beatrice Chebet, secured her second win of this season’s Diamond League season as she cruised to a win in the women’s 5000m in a season best time of 14.36:52 in Stockholm on Sunday night.
Chebet, who was only making her second appearance in the Diamond League after making her debut in the season at the Oslo leg on 15 June, made her jump to victory at the bell, kicking her pace in the final 400m to finish ahead of Lemlem Hailu who came in second in a time of 14:38.06.

Medina Eisa (Ethiopia) came in third, clocking a personal best time of 14:40.02.
The lead group were stacked up together from the gun, with race pacemaker Aleksandra Plocinska exiting with nine laps remaining.
The soggy conditions didn’t help, as the winning time stooped way below the meeting record time of 14:12.88 that was set by Meseret Defah on 22 July 2008.
The World lead and World Record was however recently set by Faith Kipyegon in this year’s Paris Diamond League on 9 June 2023.
Chebet’s latest track performance was in the Athletics Kenya National Championships - where she clinched the women’s 1500m race in a time of 4:12.56, coming off a 3000m world leading time of 8:25.01 in Oslo.
In another race, Olympic champion Emmanuel Korir had a tough time in the men's 800m finals - finishing dead last in a time of 1:48.86.
Algeria's Djamel Sedjati emerged the winner, clocking 1:44.59.
