The annual road running competition over the half and full marathon distance is officially set for Sunday, 6 July, in Nairobi.
The 2024 edition, which was staged on Sunday, 8 September, did not have a specific theme, but it was a celebration of the city's spirit, showcasing Nairobi's passion for sports and its commitment to community development
This year, the organizing committee has revealed that the theme will be ‘I Love Nairobi’. It is aimed towards celebrating the vibrance of Kenya’s capital city while advocating for the benefits of fitness and wellness through running.
“Exciting news, runners! The Nairobi City Marathon is happening on July 6, 2025, with the theme #ILoveNBO. This year, we're celebrating the vibrant spirit of our city—its energy, diversity, and resilience.
It's more than just a race; it's a chance to show your love for Nairobi while challenging yourself,” read a statement from the organizers.
