The former World U20 champion delivered a stunning performance to win the Oslo DL in a meet record time of 9:02.60 on Thursday, 12 June in Norway.
The victory saw her shave over two seconds off her Doha time of 9:05.08.
She heads to the French capital looking to extend her lead in the DL standings, where she is ahead by a point. Yavi, not in action in Paris, is second on seven.
The Kenyan's closest competitor in the race is expected to be former Olympic champion Peruth Chemutai, who comes to the competition off a 9:07.79 show to win the FBK Games in Hengelo on Monday, 9 June.
She renews rivalry with Cherotich, having faced off in Doha, the Ugandan going 9:15.55 for seventh place as the Kenyan won.
Also on the field is 34-year-old home runner Alice Finot, who is fresh from a 4:05.64 1500m show to win the Meeting International de Montreuil.
She carries a 8:58.67 personal best (PB) from the Paris Summer Games, where she finished fourth, behind Cherotich. The France international is making her debut in the 3000m steeplechase this season, at home.
Ethiopia's Sembo Almayew, who finished third in Doha, behind Cherotich and Yavi in 9:09.27, makes her second appearance in the distance, looking to give the former World U20 champion a run for her money.
She had opened her season with a 10th-place finish at the Xiamen DL.
Meanwhile, fast-rising Caren Chebet, who ran a 9:22.35 PB for third place in Hengelo, adds to the depth in Paris. The 25-year-old last raced in the DL in 2018 for a ninth-place finish in 9:46.58 at the Shanghai leg.
