Ethiopians had a clean podium sweep in the women's race.
Kenya's Titus Kipruto finished second at the Amsterdam Marathon in a race hugely dominated by Ethiopians, stopping the clock at 2:04:54 behind Ethiopia’s Tsegaye Getachew who clocked 2:04:49.
While at it, the 24-year-old Kipruto managed to set a new Personal Best, lowering his time with nine seconds from 2:05:05 which he had initially set in April during the Milan Marathon where he cruised to victory.
However, it was Kenyans who dominated the top ten, although that would count less, with six while Ethiopians took the remaining four slots to complete an East African dominance.
Of the other Kenyans in the top ten, Abraham Kiptoo finished fourth, Cyprian Kotut sixth, Norbert Kigen seventh, Laban Korir eighth, and Josephat Boit 10th.
