Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinard Omanyala will begin his outdoor tour campaign in the 100m event on 12 April 2023 when he takes part in the ASA Grand Prix at the ABSA TUKS Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa.
The national champion and African record holder on Wednesday 5 April confirmed the first part of his outdoor tour calendar on his personal Twitter account, while promising his fans of 'a worthwhile show' in the five events leading up to the Kip Keino Classic set for 13 May in Nairobi, Kenya.
"It's been a great one month of rest and preparation. GOD'S time!!!!," Omanyala wrote. "Here is the first part of my outdoor tour calendar. Mark the dates if you happen to be around these areas, those who can come, book your flights. A worthwhile show awaits you because I do keep my promises!"
Omanyala's last appearance on the track was in the second Athletics Kenya (AK) meet on 25 February 2023 at the Nyayo National Stadium when he obliterated the 100m park to win in a time of 9.86 seconds ahead of Kenyan teammate Samuel Imeta who finished in 9.94 seconds.
Before that, Omanyala had concluded his pre-season 60m races with a stunning victory at the Meeting Lievin Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais indoor event in France on 15 February - a 6.54 seconds win that saw him finish ahead of 100m 2020 Olympics Champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs.
