AFC Leopards has threatened to take legal action over Zambian side Lusaka Dynamos as they are yet to receive Duncan Otieno's transfer compensation.

Football Kenya Premier League (FKFPL) club AFC Leopards SC has threatened to sue Zambian side Lusaka Dynamos over the failure to pay the club Duncan Otieno's transfer fee.

Otieno, who is regarded as one of Kenya's best defensive midfielders in the current generation, controversially moved to Lusaka Dynamos in November 2020 and the two clubs have been embroiled in a tussle since then.

AFC Leopards initially claimed that the player, who had rejoined the club just a few weeks before from another Zambian side Nkana FC, had gone behind their backs to seal a deal with Lusaka Dynamos. Ingwe later make the matter even more confusing by claiming the player had not been registered in Kenya as they were yet to get his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

The two clubs however agreed to settle the matter and reached a financial agreement which Lusaka Dynamos is yet to honor. According to a letter seen by Mozzart Sport, Ingwe has now threatened to sue the Lusaka-based club.

"This letter is pursuant to your agreement to pay us an agreed amount of USD 25,000 (around Ksh 2.5 Million as transfer fee for acquisition of Duncan Otieno. As of today, you have not given us any payments towards this fee. Your failure to pay as you pledged is evidence of your failure to cooperate and this equates to breach of contract," the letter reads partly,

"If you fail to respond and make the payment in full, we will be compelled to pursue legal action necessary in accordance with FIFA regulations also bearing in mind that your actions amount to player tapping over and above the offence of double signing for the said player," it adds.

Duncan Otieno has been instrumental for the revamped Lusaka Dynamos as they sit third on the log in the Zambian top-tier.
