Can a team win without shooting? No? Think twice
The legendary Johan Cruyf once said: "You have got to shoot, otherwise you can't score." Well, the American side, Sporting Kansas City, would respectfully disagree.
In the MLS League clash between the aforementioned team and the current champions, LA Galaxy, the crew from Kansas had no shots and still won the game 1-0! Moreover, their xG (expected goals) was 0! On the other hand, the California crew had 11 shots - though only one on target - 71% of possession, and xG of 1.39, but everything was in vain.
Kansas City became the first team to win a game WITHOUT having a single shot in MLS history 😂

An own goal from LA Galaxy defender Maya Yoshida in the 13th minute was enough for them 😅 pic.twitter.com/33viACBle7
The decisive moment occurred in the 13th minute, when Galaxy's captain and former Southampton defender Maya Yoshida scored an own goal, bringing the rivals a victory and prolonging LA's terrible spell this season.
Namely, instead of defending the title, Galaxy sit at the bottom of the MLS table with only three points from 11 games and without a single triumph! Despite having players like Barcelona's child Riqui Puig and the legendary German Marco Reus, they have been abysmal this season, and this defeat to Kansas is perfect evidence of that.
