Nairobi City Stars will be looking to surprise Gor Mahia on Sunday when football resumes.
Nairobi City Stars take on Gor Mahia on Sunday 16 May with head coach Sanjin Alagić angling to compound misery on the reigning league champions.
Simba wa Nairobi will renew their rivalry with K’Ogalo after five years with their last match being staged back in July 2016.
Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Alagić revealed that Gor Mahia will pose a stern test to his charges but believes that his side has what it takes to surprise them.
“Playing against Gor will be a great challenge for my players and I believe in this match guys don't need special motivation to give their best at this moment. It will be a demanding match for both teams after a long break without football. We'll see which team will have a better reaction in these specific circumstances,”
Wins for City Stars over Dagoretti Santos, Dandora Youth in friendlies played on 11th May at the Public Service Grounds in Upper Hill.

“It does not matter if they don't have good results this season as they did previously, Gor is always Gor. Team with amazing tradition and great players. They are favourites in this match but I also believe we can play enough good and quality matches to surprise them," said Alagić.
City Stars will be hoping to overwrite their wretched record against Gor Mahia having won only twice in 16 Premier League fixtures.
The Bosnian tactician however revealed that after close to two months without competitive football, the team is not in the best of shape ahead of the Sunday encounter.
“Unfortunately, after more than one month without training and matches, we are definitely not in the best shape and level like we were in the moment when we played against Tusker.
“We have some injured players, but still we hope they can recover by Sunday and help the team in this big match,” he added.
