Manchester United made official the reinforcement they had been waiting for all summer

It's official! Sofyan Amrabat is finally at Old Trafford. What used to be in Utrecht, it will continue at the Theater of Dreams as the Moroccan defensive midfielder and the man who played a huge role at the start of his senior career are reunited. Manchester United completed the loan, and Erik Ten Hag got his 'pitbull' back.

"It is a huge honor to be a Manchester United player. I had to be patient for this moment, but I am someone who listens to my heart and now I will represent the club of my dreams. I am a passionate player. I want to bring energy to the team and I will give everything I have this team. I know exactly how Erik Ten Hag likes to work and what he needs from his players. His mentorship and coaching had such an impact on my development early in my career," Amrabat told the club's website.

The 10-20-5 formula was crucial for Fiorentina to avoid the departure of their midfielder. Viola earned 10,000,000 euros for the loan, 20,000,000 will be received next summer if United buys the Moroccan, and another 5,000,000 could be earned on account of potential bonuses.

United also had other options for a defensive midfielder such as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham, Marco Verratti from Paris Saint-Germain or Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern, but coach Ten Hag insisted on waiting for Amrabat. He knew what the Moroccan could bring him in a relationship. Strength and 'lungs' that only Casemiro currently has.

Amrabat also had other options. Barcelona wanted him at the beginning of the transfer window but were unable to bring him. It's a similar story with Atlético Madrid, where Cholo Simeone wanted him. Saudi Al-Ahli offered him huge money, but he turned them down. Last night he also got a call from Fulham who had an agreement with Fiorentina. He only wanted to go to Old Trafford. And his wish came true.

The whole deal could cost United 65,000,000 euros because on the 35,000,000 that should belong to Fiorentina, Amrabat's gross salary costs (net 4,000,000 per season) are 30,000,000 euros over a period of four years.

Amrabat is the seventh signing at Old Trafford this summer after Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund, Altay Bayindir, Sergio Reguillon and Jonny Evans, and with his €10,000,000 loan, United broke the €200,000,000 mark.
