Former Red Devils midfielder reveals he was devasted not to extend his five-year stint at Old Trafford
Manchester United cult hero Ander Herrera broke down in tears when discussing his departure from Old Trafford in 2019. The Spain international joined the club in 2014 when Louis van Gaal was manager.
He'd spend five years in Manchester before leaving as a free agent to Paris Saint-Germain. The Red Devils won the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League with Herrera in the team.

However, he was surprisingly allowed to leave for free in 2019. Now, speaking to club media, the Spaniard has cried over how he left United and admitted he was devastated he couldn't extend his stay at Old Trafford.
"To leave, it was difficult because six months before, five months before, I was expecting that offer for me to stay," he said.

"I don't want to, it's not the moment to talk bad about anyone, and I am not going to do it, but after my third season with the club, I expected a little bit more from the club at that time," said he, before started crying.
