The legendary Spaniard who'll soon become a free agent reportedly ranks high on the Red Devils' January Transfer Window wishlist
During the previous transfer window, Man United significantly enhanced the attack by spending over €225 million on Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko, and Matheus Cunha. However, now the defence is an issue.
Namely, the Red Devils have the second-worst defensive line among the top ten Premier League clubs - better only than Liverpool's - having conceded 22 goals in 15 games. Hence, it's clear that they need to bolster the back line, and they have reportedly found a "bombastic" target for the upcoming January Transfer Window.
According to the Spanish Cadena SER, the Old Trafford crew is seriously considering making a move for - Sergio Ramos!

The legendary centre-back will become a free agent on January 1, as he decided not to extend his deal with the Mexican Monterrey, with which he spent the past ten months. Although he'll turn 40 in March, Ramos still hopes to be part of the Spain squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and to accomplish that goal, he has to stay within Luis de la Fuente's sight.
And there are not many greater scenes in the world than Old Trafford, that's for sure.
As for United, they could considerably benefit from the Spaniard's arrival as well. First and foremost, he'd bring a priceless experience and stabilize the club's leaky defence. At the same time, he'd be a mentor to young defenders like Leny Yoro, Ayden Heaven, and Patrick Dorgu, but also positively affect Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, and Co.
Finally, Ramos could be Ruben Amorim's right-hand man on the pitch and bring a new form of passion to the squad, not to mention the immense winning mentality.
This would also be an opportunity for the defender to reunite with his ex-Real Madrid teammate Casemiro, with whom he won four Champions Leagues.
Apart from the aforementioned Los Blancos and Monterrey, Ramos played for Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain in his rich career.
And even though the eventual transfer is still a long shot, in this case, the smoke may lead to fire.
