Mutinda shakes off knee injury, set to be available for selection next weekend
KCB head coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno can afford a sigh of relief after his industrious defensive midfielder Michael Mutinda shook off an injury and began training.
Mutinda missed the past two matches against Tusker and Mathare United thanks to a knee injury picked in training, moments after the government okayed the resumption of sporting activities.
Despite resuming training, the former Thika United midfielder will sit out when the bankers confront Bandari on Sunday at the Ruaraka grounds on Sunday.
However, the former national U23 player says he will be ready to rumble again next weekend when they face the 2009 champions Sofapaka.

"I have returned to training after recovering from the knee injury which kept me out in our matches against Tusker and Mathare. The injury which began troubling me in March has been recurring and it is my prayer I will be free from it going forward," he said.
The lanky midfielder's struggle with the injury can be traced back to March when he picked what appeared to be a minor knock while in the Harambee Stars camp, a setback that saw him miss on the opportunity to feature in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier double against Togo and Egypt.

Mutinda who watched the previous two matches from the stands hailed his teammates for filling his shoes and bagging four points out of a possible six against opponents whom he labelled tough going by their aspirations.
For the time he has been out, Zico has been relying on former national U20 midfielder Vincent Wasambo to fill in the void as well as partner with the indefatigable Brian Ochieng.
"They played well as the two teams are tough. One is fighting for the title while the other is keen to stay in the competition and four points out of a possible six is quite something. They covered me well for the time I was injured and I hope my return will add more vigour to the team, " he said.
