Nabwire is yet to feature for the law enforcers this season

Kenya Police midfielder Marvin Nabwire is expected to resume full training on Monday and, subsequently, jostle for playing time for the first time in the season.

Police have had to do without the services of the midfielder this season thanks to an injury he picked up in Rwanda during the pre-season.

Nabwire, suffered a left leg bone contusion in August in one of the pre-season friendly matches in Rwanda.

Police played against giants Rayon Sports and the Rwandese Police in friendly matches before the season began.

Before landing in Kigali, the Kenyan team had pitched camp in Tanzania, where they played against Singida Fountain Gate FC and Namungo FC.

Nabwire, who has been nursing the injury since then, revealed that he was through with the rehabilitation process and was eager to start full training on Monday.

I am glad to have completed the rehabilitation and secured clearance to start full training. I am looking forward to contesting for playing time from next month,” he disclosed.

The former AFC Leopards captain joined Police in September last year after severing ties with the twelve-time league winners.

He played a crucial role in helping the club finish third last season, where he was largely used as a central defensive midfielder.

The return of the midfielder comes at a time when the police have been struggling with consistency in the seven matches played so far.

The law enforcers have won twice, drawn a similar number of matches, and lost three duels to trail log leaders Posta Rangers by seven points.

The poor start saw management-effect changes in the technical bench, where Croatian Zdravko Logarusic replaced Francis Baraza, who had failed to register a win in the opening four matches.

Police, who lost 1-0 to 2009 league champions Sofapaka last weekend, are scheduled to play FC Talanta on Saturday in South C.
