Brighton's published accounts reveal a massive secret Chelsea wanted to hide

It turns out the Londoners paid £21.5m as compensation for Graham Potter and his coaching staff

Chelsea spent £21,5 million to bring Graham Potter and a few members of his Brighton and Hove Albion coaching staff, it has been revealed.

Potter was appointed Blues boss on September 8 on a five-year deal, replacing Thomas Tuchel.

He had a £15m release clause in his Brighton contract but published accounts which cover the year until June 2023 have now revealed exactly how much the Seagulls were compensated for Potter and co.

The accounts, reported by Kieran Maguire on Twitter, show Brighton's net spend came with £21.5m as compensation for Potter and his coaching staff.
