The legendary Blues' captain will join a bunch of other former players who have tried their hand at being owners
Back in the day, once they finished their playing careers, football players would most often turn to becoming managers or sporting directors. However, nowadays, more and more of them are investing in lower-league clubs and becoming owners.
After a bunch of prominent football names, like Luka Modric, Kylian Mbappe, Ronaldo Nazario, and, most recently, Cristiano Ronaldo, John Terry is set to try his hand at being a club owner.
John Terry s poised to announce a £14million deal for League Two outfit Colchester United alongside a consortium.

Namely, according to The Sun, the legendary Chelsea captain is close to taking over English fourth-tier side Colchester United as part of a consortium preparing a £14 million takeover.
Terry's former Blues teammate Alexandre Pato was interested in getting involved in the popular U's ownership, but eventually withdrew from the talks.
Interestingly, the former centre-back's nephew Frankie Terry is a Colchester child, currently on loan at Braintree.
The U currently sit in 13th place in League Two, nine points behind the play-off zone.
