The two new signings will be in contention in Batoto ba Mungu's next clash when they face Gor Mahia on Saturday.

Sofapaka FC have patched up their tattered squad with the signings of Congolese forward Roddy Manga and Geoffrey Ojunga Omondi after the club’s transfer embargo was lifted by FIFA.

Manga joins Batoto ba Mungu from Congolese outfit Renaissance Du Congo while Omondi made the switch from relegated Western Stima who have since rebranded to Kisumu United.

The Congolese forward parted ways with Renaissance Du Congo back in February after falling out of favour with the head coach Camille Bolombo.

“It was in the air, it's now official: Roddy Manga Dianzenza leaves the Renaissance Football Club of Congo. FC Renaissance du Congo has just announced an agreement with the player for his release,”

“To report that the Congolese attacker, the native of the Mombel neighbourhood in the municipality of Limeté, on the profile of a surface fox, given a bullet to the foot, never really had his chance this season under the orders of Camille Bolombo,” read a statement from the club.

Manga was handed limited playtime in the first half of the season which led to him mutually agreeing to leave the club in search of more game time as Sofapaka came to his rescue.

Omondi joined Stima in the mid-season transfer window last season from Gor Mahia Youth and will bolster Ken Odhiambo’s midfield options this season.

For the first time this season, Sofapaka had the luxury of fielding their new signings after FIFA lifted their transfer ban after Justin Mico moved to FIFA to demand his dues.
