Once one of the biggest football talents, he is sinking lower and lower - both professionally and personally
Former England international Dele Alli has reportedly suffered heavy losses at late-night poker tables in a London casino, dropping close to 150 thousand pounds in just a matter of days.
The ex-Tottenham midfielder has been a regular presence at The Victoria Casino in central London, where he has taken part in high-stakes sessions running into the early hours. According to reports, his losses have often reached around 25 thousand pounds per night.

Once valued at more than 50 million pounds and earning a weekly salary of 150 thousand pounds, the 29-year-old now finds himself without a club after his career stalled dramatically in recent years. Released by Como in September, Alli returned to London and is still searching for his next move in football. In the meantime, he has been spending nights at the poker tables—where the results have not gone in his favor.
A seasoned poker player told the Daily Mail that Alli has become known among regulars as a “whale,” a term used for wealthy but inexperienced players who lose large sums of money. The source claimed that his arrival at the casino sparks a scramble among professionals, who see him as a lucrative opportunity.
Alli’s struggles on the pitch have mirrored difficulties off it. Once tipped for superstardom and even linked with Real Madrid, he was a key figure for England during their run to the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup, earning 37 caps at his peak.
However, his recent spell at Como ended in disappointment, with his contract terminated after he made just one appearance—receiving a red card only minutes after coming off the bench.
Previous attempts to revive his career with Everton and a stint in Turkey also failed to produce a resurgence, leaving his once-promising trajectory in stark contrast to his current situation.
