Unai Emery's team face AZ Alkmaar, Legia Warsaw and Zrinjski

Aston Villa will end their 13-year absence from European football against AZ Alkmaar, Legia Warsaw and Zrinjski Mostar in the Europa Conference League group stage.

The toughest challenge for the Birmingham-based side will be against the Dutch side, while experienced European campaigners Legia Warsaw and Bosnian side Zrinjski Mostar will also provide interesting encounters for Unai Emery's side.

The Villans smashed SPFL side Hibernian 8-0 in their play-off round, and - given Emery's European record and Villa's squad depth - they are one of the clear favourites to win this competition.

The last season's runners-up Fiorentina, who lost to David Moyes' West Ham in the intriguing final, also learned their fate after Friday's draw in Monaco.

Viola, who will hope to go one better in the 2023/24 edition of the competition, have been drawn in Group F alongside Hungarian side Ferencvaros, Belgian Genk and Cukaricki from Serbia.
