Oduor’s remarks come in the wake of his recent involvement with the Harambee Stars during the FIFA Series mini-tournament international friendlies staged in Kigali, Rwanda, where Kenya finished third.
“It’s so good to hear positive remarks and feedback from fans back home. It definitely gives me the motivation and morale to keep giving my best on the pitch and when called upon for national team duty,” he told Grimsby media.
The 27-year-old midfielder also reflected on his recent run of back-to-back starts for Grimsby Town, describing it as a major confidence booster as he looks to maintain consistency in the closing stages of the season.
“It has been a confidence booster for me to play back-to-back matches, and it gives me the edge to continue fighting. It’s a good feeling to be playing matches and with a couple of games left, I am looking forward to doing so, " he added
Looking ahead to the Chesterfield clash, Oduor acknowledged the intensity of the season run-in, with promotion ambitions on the line and fine margins separating the top contenders.
Both sides are separated by just a single point, with Grimsby Town sitting seventh on 69 points and Chesterfield eighth on 68 points, making the encounter a decisive battle in the race for promotion play-off places.
“Like I said, it’s that time of the season where matches are tight since the fight for playoff spots is on, but we will go out and get the job done,” said the former Barnsley midfielder.
Victory for Grimsby Town would lift them to 71 points, strengthening their push for a playoff berth with a game in hand yet to play in the campaign.
