Doris Petra believes the only way to end the quagmire is for FKF and the ministry to talk and agree, rebuilding the relationship between the two while at it
FKF acting President Doris Petra has welcomed talks between the embattled Football Kenya Federation and the ministry of sports led by CS Amina Mohamed in an attempt to resolve the current impulse that has engulfed football in the country.
Nick Mwendwa stepped aside as the FKF President in late November, FKF president functions to Petra, his Deputy president, in a letter addressed to the National Executive Members back then.

In an interview with Citizen Digital, Petra said that they are ready to hold talks with the ministry in a view of agreeing on what can be amended and have the two working together amicably.
“The only way forward is for us to have a sitting with the ministry so that we can talk and agree, find a solution and rebuild our relationship between the two parties. We are ready for talks and see where we can change or make amends from what they see as not being in line, otherwise, the way things are, it will not help our players, coaches, referees who are earning from football,” Petra is quoted saying by Citizen Digital.
The step by the Sports CS to appoint a Caretaker Committee has seen Kenya attract the wrath of global football governing body FIFA who have since suspended FKF, with Kenya missing on the U17 World Cup Qualifiers having been disqualified on grounds of the suspension.

When responding to whether she thinks the two will finally come to an agreement and work together for the betterment of our football, Petra acknowledged that she is confident a solution will be arrived at.
“I have not yet talked to her because I have tried to reach her but to no avail. We are following whatever the Government is doing just like other Kenyans. We were not elected by the Government but we respect the minister and we have trust in her that she will finally come up with a solution to our football,” she added.
