Ahead of today's matches, Gor Mahia are clear at the top of the league table with 37 points, one more than their arch-rivals AFC Leopards.

K’Ogalo went clear after FKF’s League and Competitions Committee (LCC) upheld the 1-1 result that was obtained at the time of the abandonment of their match against Nairobi United played on Sunday, 21 December 2025 at the Dandora Stadium.

Shabana are third on the log with 28 points, same as defending champions Police FC with the two only separated by goal difference.

At the other end of the table, Kariobangi Sharks are still bottom with 14 points and are joined in the relegation zone by Sofapaka with equal number of points and Bidco United with 15 points.

Gor Mahia vs Sofapaka

League leaders Gor Mahia welcome Sofapaka at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani from 1600 hrs in what is the biggest highlight of the day.

While both teams are seeking to get three points, they have contrasting motivation. K’Ogalo are aiming at increasing their gap at the top of the table while Sofapaka are in the battle of their lives against relegation.

The 21-time record league champions head into the match in great form that sees them enjoy an eight-match unbeaten run, having drawn three and won five matches, including in their last three.

The same cannot be said of Batoto Ba Mungu who are on a poor run of form with a winless streak that has now reached 10 games. The Elly Kalekwa-led side lost their last two games against Shabana and Leopards respectively and will therefore head into the match with little confidence.

Gor Mahia coach Charles Akonnor understands that they are favourites for the match and has called on his side to be mentally prepared to finish the job early enough.

“In the past, we have had difficulties with teams that are not doing well and so the match will require mental toughness from us. We should show that we are ready to win the match convincingly,” Akonnor told the club’s media.

“We equally do not want a situation where we come from behind to win the match, it takes too much energy from the team to do that. However, they are a good side, they okay well and we watched them when they played AFC Leopards but we have prepared adequately for the match,” he added

For Jackson Dwang', the team understands the pressure that comes with both the title race and the fans, but are ready for the challenge.

There is a pressure to win every game. However, that pressure helps us to push in every game even as we take a game at a time. We are all prepared and ready for the match,” he stated.

Kakamega Homeboyz vs Mara Sugar

Mozzart Bet-sponsored Kakamega Homeboyz play host to Mara Sugar at the Bukhungu Stadium from 1400 hrs.

Homeboyz head into the match at sixth on the log with 27 points and will be seeking to build on the 2-0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks in their last match.

The Sugar Millers on the other side are on a bad run of form, a six-match winless streak including back to back losses against Gor Mahia and Police in their last two matches.

The Edward Manoah-coached side will be working hard for a return to winning ways and add to their 20 points that has left them at 13th on the log.

Tusker FC vs Posta Rangers

Two of Kenya’s corporate clubs, Tusker FC and Posta Rangers will take on each other at St. Sebastian Park in Murang'a from 1500 hrs.

Tusker coach Charles Okere once again added more time to his stay at the club by winning 2-1 against KCB in their match to reduce pressure on him and is out to make it even better by claiming three points from The Mailmen.

Seated eighth on the table with 27 points, The Brewers will want to narrow the gap from Gor Mahia and return to the title race at the expense of a Posta side that is on a six-match winless run.

Mathare United vs KCB

At Kasarani Annex, 2008 league champions Mathare United play host to KCB FC from 1400 hrs.

The Slum Boys are 12th on the table with 22 points and are targeting a win that would put them on course to achieve their top five target at the end of the season.

They face a KCB side that has won only one of their last five matches and have since dropped to 10th with 25 points. The Bankers will be seeking a win that would help them go up the ladder.
