Araujo and De Jong are approaching their final year at Camp Nou and cost the Blaugrana too much. Their replacements are ready
There's not much time left for Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong at Camp Nou.
New boss Hansi Flick has got different plans and they don't involve the expensive duo that has spent several yars with the Blaugrana without a massive effect. Moreover, they are both nursing nursing long-term injuries and, in both cases, they will be in the last season of their respective contracts from July 2025.
According to Barcelona-based newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, De Jong has had an offer on the table from the club since November of 2023, to which he has not responded. Meanwhile, there have been no advances in talsk between Barca and the Uruguayan.
And who are Flick's targets to replace the duo?
Well, apparently, Joshua Kimmich and Jonathan Tah would occupy similar roles as De Jong and Araujo.
