Getting rid of his Dad is not a way to keep Son at home - Korean leaves Spurs!

Heung-min Son informed Tottenham Hotspur that his days with the club are over as he's on the verge of an MLS move

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy should have probably heard that before he decided to fire Ange Postecoglou, the Australian tactician who led Spurs to the UEFA Europa League title last season.

Instead of building an even stronger and more competitive side on the foundation of that success - the first piece of silverware for Spurs in decades - Levy decided to show Postecoglou the exit doors.

Thomas Frank came on to replace Ange, but this Tottenham won't be the same, and not just because of Postecoglou's absence. Only a few weeks before the start of the new season, Spurs captain Son Heung-min announced he's about to leave the club in the ongoing transfer window.

Previously, Son informed the club and Frank that he wanted to leave. Interestingly, Son will play his last game for Tottenham in his homeland since Spurs are currently on their pre-season tour in East Asia and will face Newcastle United in a friendly match in Seoul on Sunday.

We reported a few days ago that MLS side Los Angeles FC wanted to sign Son.

As things stand, Spurs have also received interest from several Saudi Pro League clubs regarding Son, but he's keen on a move to Major League Soccer (MLS).

The 33-year-old Son joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in August 2015. He has scored 173 goals in over 450 appearances. Postecoglou appointed him captain in 2023.

Son was the joint top-scorer in the Premier League with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah in the 2021-22 season and scored an incredible solo goal against Burnley, which won the 2020 FIFA Puskas Award.
