Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba has disclosed her key takeaways from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Odemba, just like all football enthusiasts, had been following proceedings from the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Prior to departure to France, where Starlets are camping in preparation for the 2016 WAFCON finals, Odemba revealed some of the lessons and observations she had made.
“Tactically, football is changing. One of the trends is that a lot of teams are playing very defensively in tournaments and sometimes that works.
Knowing football, sometimes you just need one goal and a strong defensive setup to win matches,” she said.
The former Kenya Police Bullets tactician may need the same tactics in the upcoming 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) as Kenya is in a tough pool.
The Kenyan girls were drawn against hosts Morocco as well as African powerhouses Senegal and Algeria.
“I understand we do not have the same quality, but we can pick trends and see how we can adopt what works for us,” stated Odemba.
The WAFCON will take place from Saturday 25 July to Sunday 16 August in Morocco.
Kenya is making a return to the continental tournament after a 10-year absence.
