The clip, which has since quickly gone viral, drew mixed reactions from fans, with many questioning the player’s loyalty and sense of sportsmanship.
Kenya had been on the verge of securing a semi-final berth after Gor Mahia defender Alphonce Omija put them ahead in a tense knockout clash.
But their hopes were dashed when Fenohasina Gilles equalised from the spot, forcing the tie into extra time and eventually penalties.
Despite goalkeeper Bryne Omondi pulling off a crucial save to deny Toky, misses from Michael Kibwage and Omija sealed Kenya’s fate, sending Madagascar through to the last four.
The manner of the defeat was heartbreaking for Kenyans who had rallied behind the team, making Haki’s celebrations appear even more provocative.
Harambee Stars skipper Omar, visibly disappointed, took to Instagram to voice his frustration.
"It’s disappointing to see a Murang’a Seal player (Victor Haki) celebrating after Harambee Stars’ loss yesterday," Omar wrote. “That shows a lack of respect – not just to the team, but to the nation and the game itself. We rise together; we fall together. Football should unite us, not divide us. @Victor_khaki, you’re a disgrace to the nation.”
Omar’s sentiments were widely echoed by fans who insisted that regardless of club affiliations, players must uphold professionalism and solidarity, especially when the national flag is at stake.
The controversy overshadowed what had otherwise been a historic outing for Kenya at CHAN.
That's so low from Victor Haki...celebrating the loss of your national team yet inacheza ligi kuu ya Kenya is so low and disgusting @murangaseal your players need to do better

Making their debut in the tournament’s eight editions, Stars left an indelible mark by finishing top of group A unbeaten, where they registered three wins and a draw against some of Africa’s finest.
Kenya stunned two-time champions DR Congo, silenced Morocco, and overcame Zambia, all by a 1-0 scoreline, and staged a spirited comeback to hold Angola.
