He's smilling again: Vini takes Madrid to a win with a brace
Reading Time: 2min | Sun. 05.10.25. | 00:36
The Brazilian scores twice against Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu for a 3-1 victory
Vinicius Junior's skills were never in doubt. But it seems like he can't do it without provoking his rivals, even when he is doing well. That is why he is often the target of insults, of course, when he plays outside the Santiago Bernabeu. This time he put on a show at Real Madrid's house, not only by scoring a brace in a 3-1 home win against Villarreal.

It didn't go well for Real Madrid tonight, as they struggled in the first half. If it weren't for the extraordinary save of Thibaut Courtois, they would have definitely conceded the opener and then probably fought until the end against the Yellow Submarine. Villarreal were toe-to-toe with Los Blancos before Vinicius got involved.
Xabi Alonso will have to do a lot of work to put things in order at Real Madrid. Until he does, there will be matches like today's, when he will rely on the quality of individuals...
Luckily for him, Vini was in the zone, the ball stuck to his foot and he was a bit lucky too. At the beginning of the second half, he fired and the ball ricocheted and ended up in the net.
🚨 Kylian Mbappé gives the ball for Vinicius Junior after he won the penalty.

Apparently Mbappé selfish and only cares about his own stats though? 🤣

The same player doubled the lead from the spot, before George Mikautadze pegged one back to restore a bit of drama. However, the visitors' joy was short-lived, lasting only four minutes. That's how much it took for Santiago Murino to do something stupid.
Or, perhaps rather, to Vinicius Junior to get him to make one. The second yellow, and ten-man Villarreal couldn't return from that abyss, as Kylian Mbappe wrapped up the tie to make it 3-1.
