Hey, Ruben, when will you let the poor guy cut his hair? One day

Even Man United boss found out the story about the lad who wouldn't cut his hair until the Red Devils won five straight games, but couldn't inspire much optimism in him

The story of Frank Ilett went viral around the world, and there's almost no football fan who hasn't heard of the man who wouldn't cut his hair until Manchester United won five straight games.

The 29-year-old from Oxford, living in Spain, began this challenge on October 5, 2024, and it's been 398 days since he last visited a barbershop.

Naturally, everyone at Old Trafford must be familiar with the viral story, but the first one to comment on it was United manager Ruben Amorim in an interview for the Men in Blazers show.

"Ah, I don't know! One day, he's going to cut his hair. I don't know when! Let's win the next one, and then we'll see. For me, I just hope for him to cut his hair as soon as possible," the Portuguese said, smiling.

Interestingly, the Red Devils gave Ilett the biggest hope just recently, during October, when they recorded three straight wins (their longest run since the start of the challenge) against Sunderland, Liverpool, and Brighton before the 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest broke it.

Hence, they'll have to start all over again, and their chance for the start of the new winning streak will be the Premier League clash against Tottenham in London today (15.30).
