AIK go into the return leg against Poltava trailing 2-3.
Harambee Stars internationals Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma, Henry Meja, and Collins Sichenje have all been included in AIK’s crucial second leg UEFA Europa Conference League qualification clash against Ukrainian outfit Vorskla Poltava.
In the return leg encounter set to take place on Wednesday evening at the Friends Arena, home of AIK, the Swedish top-tier outfit will be looking to overturn the results of the game after succumbing to a 2-3 defeat in the first leg played last week.
“AIK's head coach Bartosz Grzelak, together with assistant coaches Andreas Janmyr, Martin Falk and Kyriakos Stamatopoulos, has selected the following players for tonight's return meeting with FC Vorskla Poltava in the qualifiers for the Uefa Conference League. Kick-off takes place at 19:00 at Friends Arena in Solna,” read the statement containing the matchday squad.

Following the 2-3 loss in last week's meeting, there are several different scenarios that could occur at the Friends Arena on Wednesday evening. With the away goal rule having now been removed by UEFA, only the combined result after two matches will be counted. These are some of the permutations for the game.

Win for AIK
AIK must win the return against FC Vorskla to advance to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League. If AIK wins with the odd goal (i.e. 1–0, 2–1, 3–2, 4–3, etc) then the match goes to extra time 2×15 minutes, and if it is still tied overall after extra time then there will be penalty kicks. If AIK wins by more than one goal, they advance to the next qualifying round.
Draw
All tied results at Friends Arena take FC Vorskla through to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Win for FC Vorskla
If FC Vorskla wins at the Friends Arena, they advance to the third qualifying round in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
A sixth player substitution
If the match goes to extra time, the teams are allowed to make a sixth player substitution.
Next round
If AIK advances to the third qualifying round in the UEFA Europa Conference League, they will face the winner of the Valmiera FC (LVA) / KF Shkëndija (MKD) meeting on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 19:00. The match is played at Friends Arena and the return a week later.
