Luis Diaz is facing a severe knee injury that could get him out of the squad for at least three months
For some time, it seemed like the Colombian forward Luis Diaz would be fit enough to return to Liverpool's squad soon enough. In the absence of already injured Diogo Jota, it would have been at least some sort of comfort for the Scousers.

Alas, the recent medical he did back in England showed Diaz's knee problems are much more severe, and he'll probably be sidelined for at least three months.
That's why Jurgen Klopp can't be bothered too much about last night's 3-1 loss to Lyon in a friendly in Dubai.
In fact, it came as a consequence of Klopp's decision to change almost the entire team after the 60th minute and provide the youth players with a chance to present themselves against the Ligue 1 side.

At first, with all those experienced players in the starting XI - Thiago Alcantara, Matip, Salah, Firmino - the Reds looked really fine. Moreover, they even netted in the very first minute through Fabio Carvalho, with Salah missing a wonderful opportunity to double the lead from the spot within 15 minutes.

Former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette seized his chance to level the score four minutes before half-time. The French team came from behind and got in the lead thanks to Barcola's goal, before Lacazette added another one near the end for 3-1.
"I liked a lot of parts in the first half. Really aggressive. I saw what we've worked on in the training sessions so far," said Klopp. "Second half, we had to change a lot, and with all the things we did in training, it was clear 60 minutes is the maximum that anybody could play. Then we were really young and not well organised anymore. We will use this game to learn from."
