The Ugandan forward has three goals and similar number of assists in seven matches.

The undying desire to don the Uganda Cranes shirt is the secret behind Peter Lwasa's terrific start of life with the record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia.

The Ugandan import has three goals and a similar number of assists perched against his name in the seven matches the club has played in the current Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season.

Lwasa joined K'Ogalo in the last transfer window from Kariobangi Sharks and has thus far given the club a fair return on investment thanks to his decent goal contribution with his latest being a brace against the struggling Vihiga Bullets.

The attacker disclosed that he joined Gor with an ambition of helping them reclaim the league title they surrendered to Tusker last campaign as well as defend the Cup they toasted after beating AFC Leopards in the final.

Further, he said he felt good performances at the Gor stage will propel him to earn his maiden call up to the Cranes team that is steadily rebuilding after a handful of their players including their long-serving skipper Dennis Onyango called it a day.

"One thing I am sure of is a good show while in the Gor colours will guarantee me a call up to the Uganda Cranes team. I am trying to give my best on match days and improve my statistics that not only help the team but increase my chances of hitting my ultimate goal, " he said.

With Gor who have two matches at hand still unbeaten in the league, Lwasa has promised to deliver more goals and pull clear of the rest of the teams.

The former Sofapaka man who is in his fourth season in Kenya admitted to having his best time in the competition courtesy of playing at the most successful club in the land and the results they continue to post.

"I feel this is the time that I am liking playing in the Kenyan league more. It can only get better and most importantly win titles," he said.
