John Macharia is confident Gor Mahia can put their torrid form behind them and revealed his best position.

Gor Mahia midfielder John Macharia has issued a message of hope to the dejected K’Ogalo faithful following their disastrous start to the season that has seen the title slip away from their hands.

This comes amid news that Gor Mahia fans threatened the club with unspecified consequences if Manuel Vaz Pinto and the entire technical bench was not fired.

Macharia sent a message of hope to K’Ogalo fans promising to turn their wretched fortunes around adding that the players are up to the task.

“After the Napsa game the players lost morale, we were really frustrated and it also affected our league form but I would like to encourage the fans and promise them that better things are coming.”

“The players are ready to work it just that there are few things that need some tweaking then things will get back to normal at Gor Mahia,” said Macharia.

Gor Mahia’s dominance in the league is under serious threat from Tusker and KCB who have had a frightening start to the season leaving them 16 points adrift off the summit of the table.

The former Kolkheti Poti midfielder also sent a message to head coach Pinto over his best position after being played wide in a number of games this season where he has been ineffective.

“My best position is 10 just behind the striker, I feel more confident in that position because I have the ball every time so I grow in confidence the more I touch the ball.”

“I have been watching Kachi (Francis Kahata) because he was really entertaining and I just wanted to play like him, in Europe, I rate David Silva and Mesut Ozil because they play in my position so I borrow one or two things and implement them to my game,” added the midfielder.

Macharia had a decent game for Harambee Stars in the 1-0 win over South Sudan on Saturday as he was deployed in the number 10 position.
