The German is allegedly discontent at Newcastle and wants to return to his homeland, where Bayern already lurks a chance to snatch him

Nick Woltemade was Bayern Munich's great desire during the previous June Transfer Window. The Bavarians were keen on signing the then-Stuttgart player after his outstanding season, in which he scored 17 goals in 33 games.

However, they lost the "transfer battle" against Newcastle, or better said, they withdrew from it, as the Premier League side offered a vast amount for the German, eventually splurging €75 million for his arrival. Even the legendary Bavarians’ player and the current member of their board, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, called the Magpies "idiots" for spending so much on the striker.

Six months ago, Bayern lost the race for Woltemade, but he could soon come to them by himself. Namely, according to the renowned German newspaper BILD, the 24-year-old is discontent at St James' Park and wants to return to his homeland.

At first, his spell at Newcastle began superbly, as he scored six goals in his maiden two months in the East of England. But since November, things started going seriously south for the robust Die Mannschaft international.

In the last four months, Woltemade found the net only four times in three different matches. His last goal came six days ago against Aston Villa in the FA Cup, breaking his 14-game goalless spell. To make matters worse, he has lately lost his regular starting role under Eddie Howe, as the gaffer often included Yoane Wissa or Anthony Gordon (as a "false 9") in the XI.

BILD also claims Woltemade has failed to adapt to life in England, completing the list of reasons behind the player's desire to move back home.

Bayern are allegedly the main favourites to fulfil their long-cherished wish and bring the tall striker in, while his return to Stuttgart is also an option, but that scenario isn't very likely.
