‘Martial scores in every 14 years, Rashford looks like Martial’

Both United's forwards are under heavy criticism for their performance against Newcastle
A ‘truce’ between fans, TV pundits and Manchester United didn’t last long. The pressure on coach Erik ten Hag and the players slowed down after (un)successful victories against Fulham, Luton and Everton, and even when they managed to lose the 2-0 and 3-1 lead and finish only 3-3 in Istanbul against Galatsaray. But when they suffered 1-0 defeat against injury crippled Newcastle and were outrun and outmuscled, the storm was risen again. And this time, the focus was on Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.
The minimum requirement is maximum effort

The forward duo was criticized for their lack of effort and all pundits agreed that they didn’t show no desire to be on the pitch and fight for the club. Martial is six months away from (finally) ending his contract with the Red Devils and it’s difficult to say which side is looking more happy – the player himself or the club. Martial was again poor and was substituted in the 60th minute, and even argued with Ten Hag, who was angry with the striker for failing to track back as a Newcastle almost scored.
Former captain and trophy-winning United player Roy Keane is watching his club over and over again and is in agony. He lashed his fury on the Frenchman.
“We mention Martial, first few touches he got last night, we forgive Martial the fact he scores a goal every 14 years I forgive a player for that. But let me tell you when at Newcastle under pressure, we get that ball into you, you better get hold of that ball to get us up the pitch and a bit of breathing space. He's touching balls off and gives the ball away cheaply. You may as well go down the leagues. Man United have been trying to get rid of him a few years ago and defensively all over the shop and they seem like a load of strangers” Keane said on Sky Sports..
Then it was time to criticize the equally bad Marcus Rashford, who recently signed a monster five year deal and earns 300,000 pounds per week. Jamie Carragher called his performance 'unacceptable'.
“As a local player your job to drag others up. You do not stop running for that badge and your supporters as you are supposedly one of them. Watching Rashford he reminds me of Martial and that is worst possible thing you can say about him. Foreign player comes in and doesn't really care. Rashford is now looing like Martial” Jamie Carragher said.
