Gabon captain could leave Marseille in this transfer window

The ambitious Saudi side Al-Qadsiah continues its quest for European football stars. After failing to attract the first two names on their wishlist - Mauro Icardi and Alvaro Morata - the Saudis turned to the third option - Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang! This is not the first time the experienced forward has been linked to the move to the Middle East. However, what's new is the amount Al-Qadsiah is ready to pay for the 35-year-old - 40 million euros! The same sum was meant for Spanish captain before he turned it down and opted to stay in Europe.

Marseille declared a few days ago that they would like to keep the player, but they also stated they wouldn't put a spoke in Aubameyang's wheel by forbidding him to join the Saudis. That could mean that the compensation Al-Qadsiah would pay for the Gabonese would be symbolic (or there wouldn't even be one) despite his contract with the French expiring in two years.

According to French media, Auba would receive the aforementioned 40 million euros over two years. Al-Qadsiah is led by the Spanish strategist and Real Madrid legend, Michel, while their first notable reinforcement was Spanish international and former Los Blancos captain Nacho Fernandez. All in all, it seems like an offer one cannot refuse. On the other hand, it is all up to the Gabonese and his preferences - whether he'd like to make a quick buck and earn vastly or stay in European football and compete with the best. The choice is everything but easy...
