A statement of about 30 words on Real Madrid's official website has caused an earthquake in the football world!
After the arrivals Denzel Dumfries, Ibrahima Konate, and Marc Cucurella, Jose Mourinho's squad at Santiago Bernabeu has now become even stronger, as the former Manchester City captain has agreed to join Los Blancos.
And he reportedly burned many bridges to do so - in particular, Atletico Madrid.
According to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, Bernardo had reached an agreement with Los Colchoneros. The contract terms were accepted by all parties, and the midfielder was due to sign it tomorrow morning.
But then, the Mourinho effect kicked in.
At Atletico, they were afraid that the Special One's arrival at Bernabeu could lead Silva to change his mind, and that's exactly what happened!
The 31-year-old in the end rejected the club from Metropolitano Stadium and shortly struck a deal with Real Madrid, where he'll become one of Mou's warriors, whose primary task will be ending Barcelona's reign in Spain.
