While Gor Mahia's Enoch Morrison walked away with the Midfielder of the Season award, several others also produced standout performances that helped shape the campaign.
Their performances were helpful to their teams in various ways.
The Mozzart Sport team travelled across the country to track their impact, consistency, and influence on their respective sides.
Here are our writers’ picks for the midfielders who lit up the concluded FKF Premier League term.
Kevin Teya
Humphrey Aroko (Kariobangi Sharks)
It was a breakthrough campaign for Kariobangi Sharks forward Humphrey Aroko, who has delivered standout performances week after week despite his side’s difficult season.
The Kenya U20 midfielder combined consistency with end product, registering 12 league goals and six assists.
He was equally impressive in the Mozzart Bet Cup, where his six goals have placed him at the top of the scoring charts.
What sets him apart is his maturity in key moments, showing composure and confidence beyond his years, even as the Sharks battle in the relegation or playoff zone.
His all-round impact has firmly established him among the league’s brightest young talents and put him in the wider conversation for Player of the Season.
With his rapid development, a move to a top club abroad appears increasingly likely.
Josh Angatia
Musa Oundo (AFC Leopards)
Key to AFC Leopards good defensive display and neat build-up patterns was Musa Oundo, commonly known as Pele.
Playing 32 out of 33 matches, Oundo has been a trusted lieutenant for coach Fred Ambani.
He has led the team in ball recoveries, intercepting a total of 416 balls and is AFC leopards second higest passer, averaging 63 passes per 90.
His ability to be neat in possession from the first phase and the security he offers out of possession has allowed the creative forces of Kelly Madada and Tyson Otieno to flourish.
Sammy Gitahi
Humphrey Aroko (Kariobangi Sharks)
It is a no-brainer for me.
Not even Aroko could have imagined the kind of season he had. Despite playing with the pressure of keeping his side in the Premier League, the teenager had a significant season, scoring 12 league goals, and provided six assists in only 26 appearances.
Along with his eye-catching skill, the youngster showed top-level consistency, paving the way for his February Player of the Month award, and was a regular feature in the league's team of the week (eight times), and team of the month (three times).
That breathtaking season also saw him scoop the Young Player of the Season award. Deservedly so.
Brian Odhiambo
Estone Esiye (Kakamega Homeboyz)
Esiye was instrumental for Kakamega Homeboyz, featuring in 32 matches for the club.
The lanky midfielder provided excellent cover for the backline while also contributing going forward, scoring five goals.
One thing I particularly admired about him was the ease with which he won tackles and regained possession for his team.
In Homeboyz's second-leg match against Sofapaka at Bukhungu Stadium, one crunching challenge on Clifon Miheso left me feeling sorry for the Batoto Ba Mungu skipper.
Beyond his tackling ability, Esiye was consistently well-timed in his challenges and seemed to cover every blade of grass on the pitch.
Meshack Kisenge
Humphrey Aroko
Twelve goals and six assists represent a remarkable return for the young midfielder, who enjoyed a season to remember.
No other midfielder recorded more goal contributions than him in the concluded campaign.
He was the shining light in an otherwise difficult season for Kariobangi Sharks. It would not be surprising if he eventually secures a move to Europe.
Victor Karuga
Enock Machaka
Building on the form that helped Nairobi United win the National Super League title last season, Machaka seamlessly made the step up to top-flight football.
He also gained valuable experience on the continental stage and remained a key figure as 'Naibois' secured an impressive fourth-place finish in their debut FKF Premier League campaign.
His influence throughout the season was further underlined when he was named Player of the Season at the club's end-of-season awards.
