Nyabuto, who joined the newly promoted side from Tore Bobe during the last transfer window, struck twice to guide Gucha Stars to a 2–1 victory over Vihiga United in a league match played at Awendo Green Stadium on Saturday.

Alex Imbusia scored the consolation goal for Vihiga United.

The match itself had been clouded by uncertainty even before kickoff.

Originally scheduled for Saturday at Gusii Stadium, the fixture was later moved to Friday, a decision Vihiga protested, prompting Gucha to opt for their third alternative venue, Awendo.

On match day, doubts lingered over whether Vihiga would even travel after reports suggested the team was preparing to issue a walkover.

They eventually made the trip but arrived late, visibly fatigued and demoralised.

For Gucha, it marked a historic first outing in the NSL after securing promotion as FKF Division One Zone B champions last season.

Head coach Sammy Okoth will be delighted to have begun their new chapter with maximum points.

Mully Children’s Family 0–1 Migori Youth

Migori Youth’s dream start to the season continued as they claimed their fourth straight win, edging Mully Children’s Family (MCF) 1–0 at the MCF Sports Complex in Ndalani.

Elvis Wafula’s second-half strike sealed the victory for the high-flying border club, who have now scored in every match and conceded only once this season.

Under coach Samuel Otulo, MYTA, as the team is fondly known, remain unbeaten at the summit of the NSL table with 12 points, two ahead of second-placed Naivas FC.

Naivas 3–1 Mwatate United

Naivas FC bounced back from last week’s goalless draw against Vihiga United with an emphatic 3–1 win over returning Mwatate United at Vapour Grounds in Ngong.

Goals from Francis Nambute, Emmanuel Lunalo, and Kelvin Mwangi sealed the victory for Elvis Ayany’s side, while Adnan Mohammed scored Mwatate’s consolation.

Naivas now sit second on the table with 10 points, two adrift of leaders Migori Youth.

Mwatate, meanwhile, have managed just one point from their opening four matches.

Fortune Sacco 1-0 Equity Bank FC

Elsewhere, Fortune Sacco registered their first win of the season after Collins Mwangi’s solitary goal secured a narrow victory over Equity Bank.

MOFA 0-0 Darajani Gogo

At the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay, Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) and Darajani Gogo settled for a goalless draw in a tightly contested affair.
