The team will be hoping to get their second win of the season when they next take on Kakamega Homeboyz

Nzoia Sugar finds itself in an unfamiliar position after a poor start to the season.

The Millers had a great outing in the past season but have had a sluggish start to the new campaign, and find themselves placed third from bottom on the log.

The Geoffrey Oduor-coached side lost a couple of first-team players who crossed over, with Harun Otieno being the only first-team player to remain at the club.

The former KCB midfielder, who was named the club's captain at the beginning of the season, has however, called on calmness as they seek to get back to winning ways.

"We kicked off the season with a win at home, but we've then struggled, going winless in the past five matches. It is a concern for us as the playing unit, but there should be no panic because we are largely a new team. I am optimistic we will register positive results once we get to successfully integrate," said the midfielder.

Despite having a number of new faces in the team, the skipper will be hoping the new players get to quickly settle in and help the team replicate last season's performance.

"Last season, we had a greater understanding, and the team had stayed together for a long time.

“We largely have a new set of players on board who have equal abilities to the squad we had before. We had short preseason training, and all we need is some more time to become a solid force. The break has come in handy, and I hope we properly utilize this period to work on our weak points," he added.

The skipper further called on his fellow teammates to step up more to avert the losses registered so far.

The Bungoma-based team will be hoping to get their second win of the season when they next take on Kakamega Homeboyz.
