Ozil can't keep the smile off his face

Hardly any player better portrayed the phase of Arsenal's complete impotence in the fight to return to the very top of English football, as was the case with Mesut Ozil. The former member of the German national team wore the Gunners shirt for seven years (he was not registered in the current season), and in that period he went through everything that a football player in a big European club can go through. However, the saga about his departure to Fenerbahce is finally over.

After passing medical examinations, Ozil was promoted to a big signing of the Turkish giant, with whom he will sign a contract for three and a half years. He experienced that everyone at Arsenal could hardly wait to see his back, all because of the astronomical salary, which he has not justified in the last few years with his performance on the pitch.

Ozil left Arsenal after 254 games in all competitions, ie 44 goals and 77 assists. He became a Gunner in September 2013, when Arsenal broke the club record fee for him and paid 57 million USD (6.3 billion KSH). He won four FA Cups, but was not close to the championship trophy.

Ozil waived apart of the remaining 10.3 million USD (1.1 billion KSH) for the transfer to Fenerbahce, as much as Arsenal should pay him for the remaining duration of the contract, and thus practically financed the compensation to the club whose big fan he has been since childhood. Due to the difficult financial state Fener is in, the transfer will also be funded by Exen Media Group with headquarters in the city on the Bosphorus, and in return will receive part of the money from the right to use his character and name for marketing and advertising purposes. Ozil will receive a bonus of 6 million USD in the name of his signature, and he will collect 4.8 million USD a year. That is, 17 million USD for the duration of the entire contract.

Mesut Ozil reached his peak at Arsenal in the 2015/2016 season, when he was named Club's Player of the Year.
