The former France international joined his new teammates on Thursday, but those training sessions don't mean he's ready to return to the pitch
Paul Pogba trained on Thursday with his AS Monaco teammates for the first time since joining the club this June. The 32-year-old midfielder was involved in training during the morning's session in La Turbie.
Still, he was not involved in the entire session, just the warm-up. Pogba has not appeared since September 2023 due to a doping ban. That ban was initially for four years, reduced to 18 months on appeal.
In the meantime, Pogba left Juventus, agreeing a contract termination, and has since joined Monaco, signing a two-year deal at the end of June.
However, he won't be fit for the start of the season. Monaco's CEO Thiago Scuro explained that there is a three-month plan to build back his fitness. This means Pogba's return date could be around the start of October.

Scuro has confirmed that the club are still working on this timeline. Speaking in a press conference, Monaco boss Adi Hutter provided more details about Pogba's return:
"We have to be careful and protect him. Maybe in two weeks, he can be part of practice (full training session). We are looking forward to having him as fast as possible," said Hutter.
