Since the return of the tactician, Posta have lost two and won one of their three matches and find themselves at the bottom of the FKF Premier League table
Posta Rangers captain Dinken Mwema has highlighted the impact that head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has had on the team since his appointment.
Pamzo made a return to Posta as head coach on Wednesday 15 January 2025 following the departure of Bernard Kawinzi over poor results.
Since the return of the tactician, Posta have lost two and won one of their three matches and find themselves at the bottom of the FKF Premier League table.
While the results have not been as expected, the team has had a generally improved performance and proved a hard nut to crack in their last match against Gor Mahia only to concede in the dying minutes of the match.
Speaking to the media after the match, Mwema explained the impact of Pamzo’s return to the team.
“He (Pamzo) has brought a lot of positive impact on us. Even in training, he is pushing us so hard in order to get the better version of ourselves,” Mwema stated.
With Posta Rangers at the bottom of the log table and the second leg already underway, the Mailmen are at risk of dropping to the National Super League (NSL).
The captain explained the measures the team is taking to ensure they survive relegation.
“We agreed to push hard in these games and see if we can salvage our situation and survive. We have to work harder and believe in ourselves to get out of the danger zone,” he noted.
Mwema also finds solace in the fact that last season Posta had a good run of form before financial struggles hit the team and he feels the team has the ability to replicate that form now.
“Last season, we were better and I believe we can still reach such levels if we put our heads together.”
Posta’s next match will be against Shabana on Sunday 9 February at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos from 1600 hrs.
