After the latest EPL round, the whole football world is talking about Arsenal's 15-year-old and Liverpool's 16-year-old wonders, who shone during the weekend
The second round of the 2025/2026 Premier League campaign brought many exciting moments. Chelsea demolished West Ham on the road, Tottenham stunned Man City at Etihad, Jack Grealish recorded two assists in his first start with Everton, Man United failed to win again...
However, what caught the eye of the football world, as the most exceptional highlight of the past EPL weekend, was none of the above. In fact, it was a duo of youngsters who shone like the brightest pair of stars - Arsenal's Max Dowman and Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha.
The Gunners' winger became the second-youngest debutant in England's top tier at 15 years and 235 days, right behind his teammate Ethan Nwaneri, who was 54 days younger when he had debuted for the North London side three years ago.

Dowman replaced Noni Madueke in the 64th minute of the clash against Leeds, constantly ran riots over the right flank, and, in the end, won a penalty for his team in stoppage time, which Viktor Gyokeres sent home, scoring the fifth goal for the Gunners in the game.
And while everyone was still under the impression of Dowman's performance, his teammate from England U-17 joined him on the pedestal.
Last night, Liverpool were 2-0 up against ten-man Newcastle, and everything indicated another easy triumph for Arne Slot's crew. Still, the short-handed Magpies bounced back and levelled behind Bruno Guimaraes and William Osula's goals.
The Dutch tactician went all in and replaced tired Cody Gakpo with the young Rio Ngumoha in the sixth minute of added time. Just four minutes later, the Englishman of Nigerian descent won the game for the Reds, scoring his first-ever Liverpool goal!

At the same time, at 16 years and 361 days, Ngumoha became the fourth youngest scorer in EPL history behind James Vaughan, James Milner, and Wayne Rooney.
After the match, Dowman congratulated him on social media, proving that the two boys are good friends despite playing for rival teams.

In the end, we can say with certainty that the future of the Premier League is bright and we can only hope that Mikel Arteta and Arne Slot will give more playing time to the duo, because they definitely deserved it after such superb debuts.
