Young talent Bradley Barcola is on the Parisians' radar

Following the pause in negotiations between Paris Saint-Germain and Eintracht Frankfurt over the potential transfer of Randal Kolo Muani, the club from the French capital is picking up the pace to finalize the transfer of Olympique Lyonnais' talent Bradley Barcola.

Parisian executives sent an offer to their Lyon counterparts on Tuesday evening of around $49 million, in which no Parisian player was included, contrary to the statements made by John Textor, the president of Olympique Lyonnais earlier in the day.

According to sources close to the negotiations, an agreement could be reached in the coming hours. It's in Lyon's hands. The player also needs to sort out contractual details with Paris Saint-Germain, which won't be difficult.

Born in France in September 2002 to Togolese parents, Barcola began his football journey with Lyon's reserve team in Ligue 2 during the 2020/21 season. He quickly caught the eye and was promoted to Lyon's first team by coach Peter Bosz for the 2021/22 pre-season.

In September 2021, Barcola took a significant step in his career by signing his first professional contract and committing to a three-year deal. He had a breakout season in Ligue 1 last year, ending with an impressive tally of nine assists, more than any of his teammates. He also scored seven goals in all competitions. The son of Togolese parents stood out as the fastest 20-year-old player across Europe's top five leagues during the previous season.

In other, not entirely unrelated news, the Commercial Court in Lyon ordered the freezing of $15.73 million on the accounts of Olympique Lyonnais following a procedure initiated by the club's former president and owner, Jean-Michel Aulas, who is claiming a sum of money owed to him according to the conditions of his departure in May this year.

In a few months, the romance between new owner John Textor and Aulas turned into a media and legal battle. Textor accused the French businessman of having concealed the club's actual financial state during the takeover, so Aulas decided to ask for his money in the middle of the transfer window - making OL desperate to sell players to raise some funds.
