Al-Ittihad remain interested in the Egyptian
Will Mohamed Salah stay at Liverpool or will he be seduced by the call from the Middle East? It's the number one question on every Reds supporter's mind.
Andy Robertson on Mo Salah:
— The Anfield Talk (@TheAnfieldTalk) September 4, 2023
“He’s the ultimate professional. He does what he does & he’s one of the best players in the world. For us there’s no concern. He’s a Liverpool player & we believe that will be the case for the foreseeable future.”pic.twitter.com/B15qAtecqP
Left-back Andy Robertson has stated that there is "no concern" among the Liverpool players regarding Salah's future at the club. Despite speculation and a significant offer from Al-Ittihad, Salah remains with the club, and the Scottish defender emphasized that the squad is focused on their performances and is not distracted by transfer speculation. Liverpool has had a solid start to the Premier League season, and the players are determined to continue their positive form.
"For us, we block that out, Mo blocks it out. We let other people talk about that. There is no concern for us because Mohamed Salah is a Liverpool player, and we believe that will be the case for the foreseeable future. Our squad is what it is, and that's the squad that will go forward now with the window shut. It is about getting the most out of the squad, looking forward to the season ahead and trying to do better than what we did last season."
For the left-back, there is no doubt Salah would continue to give his all in a red shirt.
"He's the ultimate professional. He does what it does. He is one of the best players in the world, and he is professional. He lets other people do the talking, lets other people say what they have to say, but he's always been committed to Liverpool, and you saw that with this performance, He's not been affected. I've been around him a lot, and he's not been affected by anything. Mo has reacted in the best way possible. I think you have seen that with his performance - he was pretty special."
Not everyone is as confident as Robertson, though. Salah has been allowed to miss Egypt's AFCON qualifier against Ethiopia to remain in Liverpool and address his future. This suggests that discussions about his contract extension or potential transfer could be ongoing, and the club is giving him the necessary time to focus on these matters. Salah's future has been the subject of speculation, especially after an offer from Al-Ittihad was rejected by Liverpool. His absence from the international fixture indicates that developments regarding his future may be imminent.
