Sanjin elated after win against tough Soldiers

Nairobi City Stars coach Sanjin Alagic has lauded his charges for the win and display against an Ulinzi Stars side that he terms a tough opponent at A.S.K Grounds, Nakuru over the weekend.

Two quick goals from Nicholas Kipkirui and Bolton Omwenga in a span of four minutes in the first half sealed all three points for City Stars to push them to within two points off the fifth slot on the log.

An elated Sanjin said that they played an amazing game against a team that he does not like to face owing to their tactical discipline, more so in their defensive department.

He was also over the moon for beating them twice and drawing once in the current campaign, with a win and a draw in the league and a win in the FKF Cup Round of 16 where they proceeded at the expense of the Soldiers.

"We played a very amazing game against a very tough opponent. I do not like to play against Ulinzi because I think they are very disciplined. They have tactical discipline and a quality team. It is very hard to beat them," Sanjin said.

The Bosnian said that a position five league finish would be a good end to the season for the league returnees.

He also noted that scoring early in the first half worked well for them, just like they did in the win against Nzoia Sugar in the first leg and against Sofapaka in the second leg.

City Stars will host Gor Mahia next where a win would see them move up to fourth on the log, tied on points with K'Ogalo but on a superior goal difference.
