City stars were bundled out of the cup by Bidco United.

After being bundled out of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup by Bidco United at Ruaraka, Nairobi City Stars tactician Alagic Sanjin now believes that there were two sides to his team's participation in the cup; positives and negatives.

Sanjin said that being in the cup all the way to the last eight was beneficial to City Stars in that it has kept them in very good shape, continuing the good run they had in the league before the break to pave way for Cup action.

“I will look at this from two perspectives, one positive and one negative; positive is that we are in really good shape and after two wins in the league we continued the run in the Cup with great performance,” the boss said.

At the same time, just like other top-flight coaches have done recently, the Bosnian lamented exhaustion of the players given the number of matches that the Kawangware-based side has played in quick succession.

“The negative is that we have played many games every 3-4 days in the last few weeks and the players are exhausted. We now have just four days before we play the next league match,” he added

Sanjin went ahead to say that the fixture congestion will continue perhaps for the rest of the season, which could affect the performance levels of the players, noting that it will not affect City Stars players but everyone across the board.

“The schedule is too tight for matches and this will continue for the next two or so months. I believe players will suffer from tiredness, injuries and it will be very hard to keep a good level of performance. You’ll see many surprise results in upcoming Championship matches,” he said.

Simba wa Nairobi will resume their league campaign with two games in a span of five days next week, against Western Stima on Tuesday and Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday.
