The Frenchman will join Arne Slot's crew for €95 million (bonuses included), becoming the club's second most expensive signing after Florian Wirtz and its costliest striker
Who would have thought that the two most expensive reinforcements in Liverpool's history would arrive at Anfield in the same transfer window?!
Not even three weeks after the confirmation of the Reds' costliest-ever signing worth €125 million, Florian Wirtz, they once again broke the bank, bringing the highest-priced striker in the club's history and the German's first follower on the list of Liverpool's most extravagant transfers - Hugo Ekitike!

A full agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt in principle has now been reached after new talks today. Transfer fee: €95 million with add-ons included.

The Frenchman, who was on the radar of numerous European giants, ultimately opted for the Premier League champions, which outbid Newcastle's offer and splashed out €95 million (add-ons included) for him. The 23-year-old will sign a deal until 2031 and is supposed to undergo his medicals shortly.
At the same time, the current transfer window became historic for Liverpool, as they never spent more money - €308 million so far. On the other hand, Eintracht Frankfurt once again proved they know how to do business, as Ekitike became just one of their numerous high-value sales, joining players like Luka Jovic, Sebastian Haller, Randal Kolo Muani, and Omar Marmoush.
To make matters even better for the Eagles, they brought Ekitike from Paris Saint-Germain a year ago for only €16.5 million. The striker then "exploded," recording 22 goals and 12 assists in all competitions for Eintracht last season, which didn't escape European greats' notice.
Now, after one of the greatest transfer windows by any club in football history, Liverpool are deservedly leading favourites to clinch another Premier League title and "attack" their seventh Champions League trophy.
