Kenyan striker Jesse Were watched the action from the bench as Kansanshi Dynamos secured a much-needed victory humbling league leaders Kabwe Warriors 2-0

Dennis Ng’ang’a and John Ochieng featured for their club Zanaco as they lost 1-0 to Green Buffaloes in a Zambia Super League match played on Wednesday evening at Edwin Imboela Stadium.

For a second game running, Ng’ang’a, who has established himself as a key member of the Zanaco starting team, played for the entire 90 minutes, but could do less as his side failed to win a league match in three successive attempts.

Buffaloes went ahead in the 43rd minute through George Ngoma and held on to the lead to record their first win since mid-October.

Ng’ang’a compatriot Ochieng was withdrawn in the 69th minute for Francis Phiri.

Ian Otieno Star in Zesco Win

At Trade Fair Ground, Ian Otieno started in goal and played the entire game as Zesco United registered their first win since the start of October to end their winless run of three games as they overpowered third-placed Red Arrows 1-0 in a match staged on Wednesday evening.

Moise Lola Kanda scored the lone goal of the game in the 78th minute and the Kenyan International produced a spectacular save in injury time to deny Alassane Diarra from close range and bag maximum points for Zesco.

Elsewhere, at Woodlands Stadium, David Odhiambo featured for 90 minutes as his side Napsa Stars battled to a barren draw against Trident FC in a league match staged on Wednesday evening.

The stalemate lifted Napsa out of the red zone with eleven points one ahead of fifteenth-placed Konkola Blades after eleven rounds.

At Nchanga Stadium, Kenyan striker Jesse Were watched the action from the bench as Kansanshi Dynamos secured a much-needed victory humbling league leaders Kabwe Warriors 2-0 to end a streak of six games without a win.

Dynamos were under the stewardship of interim coach Donwell Yobe following the departure of Boyd Mumwanda.

In Malawi, Clyde Senaji played for 90 minutes as his side Nyasa Bug Bullets was held to a one-all draw by Red Lions in a league match played on Wednesday afternoon. Compatriot Collins Okumu remains sidelined with an injury.
