The two goals mark a fruitful goal-return for the forward, who saw her tally in the league this season rise to nine goals and seven assists
Harambee Starlets Violet Nanjala was once again on the scoresheet for her side - Association Municipale de Laâyoune (AMLFF) - as they closed out the year with a 3-1 victory over Nahdat Athletic Zemmamra at Centre de formation RCAZ Stadium on Saturday 28 December.
The 24-year-old netted a brace in the comfortable Ligue Nationale de Football Féminin victory, which saw the away side jump to an early 2-0 lead inside the first 22 minutes before closing out the win with a third two minutes after the hosts had halved the deficit with 19 minutes left on the clock.
The two goals mark a fruitful goal return for the forward, who saw her tally in the league this season rise to nine goals and seven assists.
The victory for AMLFF, which follows a 4-0 thrashing of Raja Aïn Harrouda last Saturday, moves them to the top five with 19 points and with a positive goal difference of 22.
“Another brace for me today, helping my team AMLFF win 3-1 and I end the year 2024 in style,” Nanjala, who was also on the scoresheet for Harambee Starlets in their resounding 5-0 victory over Morocco posted on Facebook.
Elsewhere in Tanzania, Kenyan striker Elvis Rupia featured for Singida Black Stars as they stumbled to their third league loss in the hands of leaders Simba.
The 29-year-old, who was on the scoresheet in Singida’s 2-0 victory on Christmas eve, couldn't come to his side’s rescue as they slipped to a Fabrice Ngoma goal late in the first half.

The defeat leaves Singida fourth on the log with 33 points while Simba extends their winning run under Fadlu Davids and now holds a four-point lead over rivals Young Africans.
In South Africa, Kenyan goalkeeper Brian Bwire was left on the bench once again as Polokwane City settled for a barren draw with Golden Arrows at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Durban.
The 24-year-old is yet to find a way to the starting eleven since his move in August and has only featured in one match - a Carling Cup game - since then.
