Marca reports that the talented Turkish midfielder, 18, is finally fit to make his maiden La Liga appearance
It all started months ago. Real Madrid were on their US tour, and the prodigious teenager got injured during a training session ahead of his expected Los Blancos debut.
As Mozzart Sport Kenya recently reported, Arda Guler subsequently underwent knee surgery on August 14 and has since faced two muscle injuries. The first occurred on September 26. Guler had completed the entire training and was set to be on the squad for La Liga match against Sevilla, but he suffered an injury right at the end of the session, catching even coach Carlo Ancelotti by surprise, as he wasn't aware of it while giving the pre-match press conference.
The young Turkish talent began his second recovery and rehabilitation process. After making his first two call-ups on November 5 against Rayo and on November 8 in the Champions League against Braga, the former Fenerbahce youngster missed training on November 10. The next day, Ancelotti explained at a press conference that Guler had suffered a setback. It was another harsh blow for the player, who started a new recovery process without a return date...
Well, long story short, it seems that the return date is actually January 3!
According to Marca, the attacking midfielder is included in the potential roster to face Mallorca on Wednesday night in their first La Liga game of 2024.
"In the Royals' last open training session of 2023, the Turkish playmaker was in the group, completing all the exercises with total normality. In addition, Arda carried out specific training with Vinicius Jr and Dani Carvajal, among others, too.
"The idea with Arda Guler, if nothing goes wrong at the last minute, is for him to play his first minutes against Mallorca in the first game of 2024 at the Santiago Bernabeu. Take advantage of the home game to show the Turkish star to his new fans in the final part of the game, so that he gains confidence. In the Copa del Rey, although one might think that it is the best time to give him more minutes, the footballer would rest to continue with the meticulous plan that the white club has created for the Turkish sensation," concludes Marca.
